Upholstery Care & Cleaning

Fabrics

Vacuum furniture weekly. Avoid exposing to direct sunlight for long periods. Cleaning should be done by a reputable cleaning company.

Leather

Markings should not be regarded as a defect or a fault. Clean with a damp cloth taking care not to soak the leather. Avoid using detergents, polishes and waxes and protect from direct sunlight, excessive heat and sharp objects

Tables

Protection

When using the surface for serving food and drinks it is best to use protective mats and coasters. Spillages should be wiped up as soon as possible.

Cleaning

The lacquers used are highly resistant to the rigours of normal use and should usually only need regular, light dusting with a soft cloth. If sticky marks occur on the surface they can be removed with a dilute solution of warm soapy water. The offending area should be rubbed lightly and then completely dried immediately afterwards, before replacing any mats etc.

Cleaning Materials

Use of cleaning materials containing abrasive compounds acidic or caustic reagents and any bleaches containing oxidising reagents should be avoided as prolonged use may damage the lacquer surface. Refrain from using anti-bacterial products on the surface of the tables as this has been proved to break down the lacquer finish.

Use of furniture polishes containing Silicones should be avoided as they can contaminate the finish surface and cause problems if the furniture finish ever needs repairing.
